Friendly AI lessons · Across Canada
Learn to use AI in everyday life.
Patient, hands-on lessons help you try useful tasks one step at a time, at your own pace. Bring your questions; there’s no pressure to already know the technology.
For older adults and anyone who wants a gentler start with technology.

AI can feel like a lot of buttons and unfamiliar words.
We make space to slow down, try things, and find what’s useful to you.
A lesson at your pace
Start with something you already know how to do.
No technical background needed. Take a familiar everyday task and explore how an AI tool might help, with guidance as you go.
- 01
Choose a real-life task
Think of a message, a list, or an idea you’d like a hand with.
- 02
Try it together
See how to ask clearly, make changes, and ask follow-up questions.
- 03
Decide what feels right
Review the answer, keep what helps, and leave the rest behind.
An everyday example
A thoughtful message can be a good place to begin.
Here’s what practising with an AI tool could look like. You stay in charge of every word.
You might ask
“Help me write a kind, short note to say I can’t make our walk tomorrow.”
A first draft might say
“Hi Pat, I’m sorry, but I can’t make our walk tomorrow. I hope you have a good day, and I’ll be in touch to find another time.”
AI can get things wrong. Read the draft, change anything you like, and only send it if it sounds like you.
Use AI thoughtfully
Curiosity is good.
A little care goes with it.
01 Keep private details out of your prompts.
02 Check answers that matter before acting on them.
03 You choose what to use, change, or ignore.
